Can this wire-type high voltage UL 1449 surge protector be mounted exposed outside for street light?
It cannot be directly exposed outdoors alone. Though the enclosure has IP65 dustproof and waterproof grade, this SPD must be installed inside the sealed luminaire housing of outdoor street light. It works steadily at wide temperature range of -40℃ ~ +70℃ to fit harsh outdoor environments. The fully encapsulated structure limits sparks and burning risks if MOV failure or long-time overvoltage overload occurs, avoiding secondary damage to high voltage street light fixtures.
What causes the light to stop working after SPD failure?
